Specialty Medical Eye Services
Patients with acute and chronic eye health disorders may require advanced diagnostic testing and consultation with a specialist. Medical eye problems such as glaucoma, diabetic eye disease, cataract, and other conditions, are examples of eye health disorders that may require referral to The Eye Institute’s Specialty Service.
Minor surgical procedures for common eye problems such as chalazion or other common skin growths can be treated in the specialty service. Laser therapies for selected medical eye problems are available in The Eye Institute’s specialty service. Surgical management for cataract, glaucoma, and vitreo-retinal problems take place at local surgical centers and hospitals where our specialty doctors have affiliation. The Eye Institute offers medical eye consultative services by specialty ophthalmologists and optometrists in the following areas:
