
Dr. Shoge graduated from Randolph-Macon College in Ashland, Va. with a bachelor’s degree in biology. Fours years later, she received her Doctor of Optometry degree from the Pennsylvania College of Optometry. After completing her optometric education, Dr. Shoge completed a one-year post-graduate residency in the pediatric and binocular vision service at The Eye Institute of the Pennsylvania College of Optometry at Salus University.
In the year following her residency, Dr. Shoge worked in a private practice in Maryland where she provided primary eye care exams to children as well as adults, and performed one-on-one vision therapy with patients of all ages.
Dr. Shoge rejoined the professional staff in the pediatric service at The Eye Institute in 2008. She currently provides care to infants, toddlers and children with a special interest in vision therapy, amblyopia, strabismus and learning-related visual disorders. She also provides screenings throughout Philadelphia and for participants of the Special Olympics—funded by the Lions Club—each year. Additionally, Dr. Shoge has participated in several federally funded clinical research studies.
