About  Dr. Scheiman:

Dr. Scheiman is currently a Professor and Director of the Pediatric and Binocular Vision Programs at the Pennsylvania College of Optometry, and Study Chair of the Convergence Insufficiency Treatment Trial.  He graduated from the New England College of Optometry in 1975, completed a residency in vision therapy at  the State University of New York’s  College of Optometry and has been a full-time optometric educator/researcher specializing and teaching in the area of pediatric optometry, binocular vision disorders and vision therapy.  His primary responsibility at the College is  clinical research with an emphasis on randomized clinical trials designed to study the effectiveness of vision therapy.

Dr. Scheiman is Diplomate in Binocular Vision, Vision Perception and Pediatrics in the American Academy of Optometry, and a Fellow in the College of Optometrists in Vision Development.  He has served on many national committees for the American Optometric Association and the American Academy of Optometry and serves on the editorial board of several journals.  He has published over 100 journal articles and has written 4 textbooks.
