
Dr. Neal Nyman graduated from McGill University in Montreal, Canada in 1968 with a Bachelor of Science degree. After completing his degree at McGill, he entered the Massachusetts College of Optometry in Boston (now The New England College of Optometry) and received his Doctor of Optometry degree in 1972.
After graduating from optometry school, Dr. Nyman served as Director of Eye Care Services at the Dorchester House Multi-Service Center, an interdisciplinary human services center in Dorchester, Massachusetts. As Director of Dorchester House, Dr. Nyman also held a faculty appointment at the Massachusetts College of Optometry until 1982, when he joined the faculty of the Southern California College of Optometry as the of Director of Optometry at the Veteran's Administration Outpatient Clinic in Los Angeles.
In 1985 Dr. Nyman joined the professional staff and teaching faculty at The Eye Institute, where he continues to hold the position of Chief, Primary Care Module Four. Dr. Nyman teaches professional communications in the pre-clinical curriculum of The Pennsylvania College of Optometry. Dr. Nyman has interests in ocular disease, bioethics, and interpersonal communication. He has lectured on these and related topics. Dr. Nyman is married with one child.
