About Dr. Narayanan:

Srihari Narayanan graduated with a Bachelor of Optometry from the Elite School of Optometry, Madras, India in 1994. He worked as an optometrist in a glaucoma care center in Madras, India until 1996 when he moved to Bahrain to enter private practice.

Dr. Narayanan did his graduate education at the University of Houston, College of Optometry (UHCO). He received a Master of Science (MS) in 2001 and a Doctor of Philosophy in 2005. He completed the Doctor of Optometry program at UHCO in 2007.

Dr. Narayanan has published several peer-reviewed articles in reputed optometric and ophthalmologic journals and authored / co-authored numerous presentations in vision research meetings. His area of research includes the tear film and ocular surface disease with a special interest in the inflammatory component of dry eye disease. He has taught continuing education courses for optometrists in the state of Texas as well as in national optometric meetings. Dr. Narayanan is a two-time recipient of the prestigious Ezell Fellowship awarded by the American Optometric Foundation.

Dr. Narayanan joined the clinical staff of The Eye Institute in 2007 where he is a clinical attending in the adult primary eye care service. He also has a teaching appointment at the Pennsylvania College of Optometry where he has didactic responsibilities in the optometry, audiology, and physician assistant programs.

Dr. Narayanan is a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry. He is also a member in good standing in the American Optometric Association.
