Dr. Malloy attended Villanova University and graduated from the Pennsylvania College of Optometry in 1996. She completed a residency in primary eye care at The Eye Institute the following year. After practicing primary care at The Eye Institute for several years, she began fellowship training in neuro-ophthalmic disease. Since completing her fellowship in 2005, she has acted as the Director of Neuro-Ophthalmic Disease Service at The Eye Institute. As such, Dr. Malloy specializes in visual and ocular conditions related to the brain or manifested as a more global systemic or neurologic process. Her areas of interest include vision loss, headache, double vision, optic nerve assessment and ocular manifestations of stroke, thyroid dysfunction and other systemic and neurologic conditions. Dr. Malloy often uses laboratory testing and neuro-imaging as diagnostic tools, and works in conjunction with other health care providers and specialists in order to provide the best comprehensive care for the patient.
Dr. Malloy is a Fellow in the American Academy of Optometry and is currently the only Diplomate in Neuro-Ophthalmic Disease in the American Academy of Optometry. She is a member in good standing of the Pennsylvania Optometric Association and the American Optometric Association. She has also authored numerous journal articles, is an Associate Editor for the Journal of the American Optometric Association and lectures both domestically and internationally on topics related to neuro-ophthalmic disease.
