Dr. Boas received a bachelor of science degree from the University of Dayton in Dayton, Ohio in 1976. Four years later, he completed his master’s degree in zoology from Pennsylvania State University in State College, Pennsylvania. In 1986, Dr. Boas received a Doctor of Optometry degree from the Pennsylvania College of Optometry (now Salus University). During his student years at the College of Optometry, he served in a number of leadership roles, including president of his class.
Since receiving his doctor of optometry degree, he has dedicated himself to making a difference in the optometric profession. He is currently in a private practice with his wife, Dr. Suzanne Boas. Dr. Boas holds a special interest in children’s vision problems, vision therapy and learning related vision disorders. In 2002, he presented testimony in favor of a school readiness initiative to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives Committee on Children and Youth. As a pediatric optometrist for over 20 years, Dr. Boas recognizes the value of improving pediatric vision care through the state of Pennsylvania.
Dr. Boas has served as a past President of the Pennsylvania Optometric Association and currently is a member of the Board of Trustees at Salus University. 02/2009
