About Dr. Barker:
Dr. Barker joined The Eye Institute (TEI) in 1978, serving as a provider of Primary Eye Care Services continuously since that time. He is the current Associate Dean of Research and has previously served as both Chief of Staff and Director of Medical Education for TEI. He is a graduate of the Indiana University School of Optometry and received his MS degree in Vision Science from the University of Houston.
Dr. Barker is a Distinguished Practitioner in the National Academy of Practice in Optometry. He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry, and is a member of the American Optometric Association, the Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology, the American College of Toxicology and the American Society for Photobiology. In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Barker lectures at the College and to practitioners both here and abroad. He is active in research and publication.
